Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are & what this is
MeeDelivery ("we", "us", "the Platform") is an online intermediary that connects people who want to send a package ("Senders") with independent travellers already making that journey ("Travellers"). We are a technology platform only — we do not own a fleet, employ Travellers, take custody of packages, or act as a courier or logistics company. By using the Platform you agree to these Terms.
2. Nature of the service
- We facilitate introductions, communication, OTP-verified handover, tracking, and payment collection between Senders and Travellers.
- Travellers are independent individuals, not our agents or employees. The transport contract is between the Sender and the Traveller.
- We are an "intermediary" under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and follow the applicable due-diligence obligations.
3. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Indian law.
- You must provide accurate information and complete phone (OTP) and, where required, KYC verification.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
4. Prohibited & restricted items
You may not send, and Travellers may not carry, any item that is illegal or unsafe, including but not limited to:
- Cash, gold/bullion, or negotiable instruments;
- Drugs, narcotics, alcohol, tobacco where restricted;
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or hazardous/flammable materials;
- Live animals, perishables prohibited by law, human remains;
- Counterfeit goods, stolen property, or anything that infringes others' rights;
- Any item prohibited by Indian law or by the carrier/airline/transport operator used.
The Sender is solely responsible and liable for the contents declared. Misdeclaration is a material breach and may be reported to authorities.
5. Payments & escrow
Delivery fees are collected through a third-party RBI-authorised payment aggregator. [Confirm your aggregator: Razorpay / Cashfree.] Funds for a delivery are held by the aggregator and released to the Traveller only after delivery is confirmed via OTP at drop-off. MeeDelivery does not operate a stored-value wallet or hold customer funds as a deposit-taker.
[If you offer any wallet/stored balance, you must comply with RBI PPI rules or route all funds through a licensed aggregator's escrow/nodal account. Confirm the exact flow with your aggregator and lawyer.]
6. Conduct & safety
- Both parties must complete OTP verification at pickup and drop-off.
- No harassment, fraud, impersonation, or attempts to transact off-platform to evade fees or safety checks.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or pose a safety/fraud risk.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeeDelivery is not liable for loss, theft, delay, or damage to packages, which is a matter between the Sender and the Traveller. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Platform is limited to the service fee we earned on the relevant transaction. We provide the Platform "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. [Your lawyer should calibrate this clause to Indian consumer law — unfair limitation clauses can be void.]
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify MeeDelivery against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your package contents, or your unlawful conduct.
9. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [City, State] have exclusive jurisdiction. [Insert your seat.]
10. Grievance Officer
In line with the IT Rules, 2021 and Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020:
- Grievance Officer: [Grievance Officer name]
- Email: grievance@meedelivery.in
- Address: [Registered business address, City, State, PIN]
- We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve within statutory timelines.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use means acceptance.
